Job Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team and deliver a high level of customer service to new and existing parents. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that invoices are accurate and aligned with billing instructions, and provide essential support and documentation to parents, bill payers, and our debt collection agency, particularly for overdue accounts. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Management: Ensure that all invoices are accurate, reconciled, and distributed within specified deadlines.
  • Customer Support: Respond promptly to invoice and payment queries from parents and other stakeholders, providing clear communication and resolution.
  • Debt Collection: Proactively manage overdue accounts, chase payments within the framework of terms and conditions, and escalate issues to the Group Director of Finance as required.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and updates for the Financial Controller and Group Director of Finance, ensuring timely submission.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and update bill payer information in the pupil billing system to ensure records are complete and accurate.
  • Collaboration: Provide support to stakeholders and work closely with the finance team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar financial role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

The role is full time Monday to Friday but we would consider 4 days for the right candidate.

Stowe School

Stowe School occupies Stowe House and approximately 200 acres of the Stowe estate and is located in Stowe’s world-famous landscape gardens set in 880 acres. Stowe School is an independent co-educational boarding School with approximately 900 pupils. There are around 500 full and part-time staff with 60 staff and their families living on site. In January 2021, Winchester House and Swanbourne House Schools became part of The Stowe Group.
