Job Introduction

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber to join our Maintenance Department. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of plumbing services across Stowe School properties and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs, including water supply systems, sanitary ware, heating systems, drainage, and waste pipes.
  • Investigate and address boiler faults, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment, including workshops and material stores.
  • Assist other trades and staff when required.
  • Ensure school vehicles and tools are properly maintained and used safely.
  • Participate in the Emergency Call-Out Team when needed.

About You

We are looking for a professional, reliable, and proactive individual who takes pride in their work. You should have:

Essential Skills & Experience:

 Qualifications: City & Guilds Apprentice 6189 (Plumbing & Domestic Heating) or NVQ equivalent
 
 Sound knowledge of general plumbing and maintenance practices
 
 Ability to read and follow instructions
 
 Knowledge of health and safety regulations

Stowe School

Stowe School occupies Stowe House and approximately 200 acres of the Stowe estate and is located in Stowe’s world-famous landscape gardens set in 880 acres. Stowe School is an independent co-educational boarding School with approximately 900 pupils. There are around 500 full and part-time staff with 60 staff and their families living on site.
